Judging Criteria

The names and profiles of the judges will be released shortly; they comprise a cross section of senior marketers and ad planners. If you would like to be considered to be a judge please do reach out to info@radioadvertawards.co.uk. We especially welcome applications from under-represented groups in the industry.

 

You may enter the same advert in more than one category. You can upload the audio file of your advert as well as 2 A4 pages of supporting material. What should be in this material? Well, we don't want to be too prescriptive about the format; we suggest you study the judging criteria below and present this information in any way you so wish. Using the SMART objectives format is always a good way to go if you're unsure.

To be eligible the advert must have run at any time during the period of January 2023 - June 2024 inclusive across any recognised UK based broadcast radio station or digital streaming platform available in the UK.

Advert of The Year (Grand RAA) - This advert will be awarded by the judges to the best overall advert from all the sector categories below.

Best Regional Targeted Advert
Best Fashion and Beauty Advert
Best Public Sector Advert
Best Financial Services Advert
Best Charity Sector Advert
Best B2B Sector Ad
Best eCommerce Sector Advert
Best Automotive Advert
Best Travel and Leisure Advert
Best Integrated Campaign Ad
Best Retail Sector Ad

Sponsorship Awards:

Radio Competition of the Year
Best Programme Sponsorship


For the Sector and Sponsorship awards the judges will be looking at the following criteria:

​

Commercial Impact - how did the advert/competition drive business and/or awareness for the company or organisation?
Creative Execution - how did the advert/competition get cut-through to the target audience?
Production Quality - how well crafted is the advert/competition?

​

Judges will score the adverts independently of each other and the scores will be collated to create the shortlist & winners

In addition to commercial impact, creative execution and production quality the judges will also be looking for a demonstratable passion for their craft and the radio advertising industry in general.

Radio Station of the Year

This award will be awarded to the commercial radio station which worked best for it's advertisers; shows a commitment to it's advertisers and provides excellent value.
